Flores Transfer Basin: A disputed resource corridor that became one of the first documented battlegrounds of the Shadow War. Both RAVEN and VALOR officially deny any engagement at Flores, a denial that itself became a case study in PMC deniability doctrine and the limits of the Millennium Accord's enforcement mechanisms. The Basin is referenced in UOPMO briefings as "Incident Category Null" — meaning attribution was never officially assigned.
Gotha Elite: RAVEN's signature assault rifle platform, issued to infantry across most contract theaters. The Gotha Elite is a precision-engineered weapon manufactured under RAVEN's internal arms procurement program, reflecting the faction's philosophy that superior equipment produces superior results. Its tight tolerances require regular maintenance — something rarely possible in extended field operations, a critique leveled at RAVEN's ground forces by SVER tacticians who prefer weapons built for abuse.
Grozny Operations Hub: The administrative and operational center of Seryi Volk Executive Response, situated in Grozny, Chechnya. The Hub is less a corporate campus than a fortified compound built from the ruins of what was once a municipal building. SVER leadership deliberately chose Grozny for its symbolism — a city that has survived devastation and reconstruction multiple times, reflecting the faction's ethos of endurance over elegance. Personnel records indicate a majority of SVER's senior field officers were recruited from former Spetsnaz and KGB units operating in the region.
Interdiction: MAG's first paid content expansion, released June 22, 2010. Interdiction introduced three new conflict zones: Iron Creek Quarry, Lake Bayano, and Sovot Motorway — each designed around the Interdiction game mode, in which 128 players contest control of three strategic points following an accidental battlefield encounter. The maps represented a significant expansion of MAG's contested geography and were later folded into the base game with Patch 1.06.
Iron Creek Quarry: A heavily industrialized extraction site that became a flashpoint during the early resource conflicts of the Shadow War. Three PMC forces converged on the Quarry's processing infrastructure simultaneously — an unplanned engagement that UOPMO analysts classified as an "accidental contact" rather than a deliberate offensive, a distinction that allowed all three parties to avoid formal Accord violations. The Quarry's narrow corridors and elevated conveyor lines made it one of the most tactically complex theaters in recorded PMC engagements.
Antoine Jeannette: CEO and strategist for RAVEN Industries GmbH and the counterpart to field commander Horst Schaefer. Described internally as the "smooth" half of RAVEN's operational command pairing, Jeannette is responsible for contractor relations, media positioning, and the faction's public denial architecture — including the official RAVEN statement regarding the Flores Transfer Basin. His communications background makes him a frequent target of SVER intelligence operations.
Priya Khan: Founder and architect of Seryi Volk Executive Response. Khan built SVER from a loose coalition of regional security contractors into one of the most effective — and feared — PMCs operating under the Millennium Accord. Her recruitment philosophy prioritized results over credentials, drawing operators from criminal organizations, rebel militias, and disbanded intelligence units. Khan's biography is almost entirely reconstructed from secondary sources; SVER destroys personnel records as a matter of policy.
Kinmark SRS: RAVEN's precision sniper rifle system, the Kinmark Sniper Rifle System is regarded as among the most technically advanced long-range platforms in PMC service. Developed through RAVEN's virtual simulation training program, the weapon was designed to match the engagement parameters of VR-trained marksmen before those marksmen had ever fired a live round. Critics note that RAVEN snipers trained on the Kinmark often underperform in adverse weather conditions — a gap between simulation and reality that SVER and VALOR operators have learned to exploit.
Lake Bayano: A contested freshwater resource zone, Lake Bayano sits at the intersection of three PMC operational boundaries. Its value lies not in its geography but in the infrastructure surrounding it — water processing facilities, a relay station, and a submerged communications cable that runs beneath the lake bed. Intelligence assessments from all three factions indicate that whoever controls Bayano controls regional communications in a 200-kilometer radius.
Millennium Accord: The international treaty signed by the world's major powers that prohibits nation-states from initiating offensive military action and limits standing armies to defensive roles. The Accord's enforcement mechanism — economic and diplomatic sanctions — proved effective at constraining conventional military aggression but contained no provisions for the use of private military contractors. This omission, intentional or oversight, created the legal architecture that allowed SVER, RAVEN, VALOR, and later ASAHI to wage what analysts would call the Shadow War: a global resource conflict with no declared belligerents and no formal battlefield.
Radiant Barrens: A scorched mineral extraction zone added in the Escalation DLC. The Barrens take their name from the landscape left behind after strip-mining operations — a flat, sun-bleached expanse broken only by ridge lines and abandoned equipment. With little cover and wide sight lines, the Barrens favored long-range engagements and air assets, making it a proving ground for sniper and pilot specialists alike.
Rubakho SVR: SVER's primary sniper rifle platform, the Rubakho SVR is a descendant of the Soviet SVD lineage adapted for PMC field conditions. Where RAVEN's Kinmark SRS is optimized for precision under ideal circumstances, the Rubakho is built to function in the rain, mud, and cold that characterize many of SVER's operational theaters. Its tolerances are loose by Western standards; its reliability under abuse is not.
Horst Schaefer: RAVEN field commander and counterpart to strategist Antoine Jeannette. Described internally as the "rough" half of RAVEN's command pairing, Schaefer is responsible for direct operator deployment, contract enforcement, and field-level decision-making. A former military officer whose national service record has been sealed at RAVEN's request, Schaefer is one of the few RAVEN senior staff with documented combat experience prior to joining the faction.
Sentinel M421: VALOR's issued precision rifle platform, the Sentinel M421 reflects the faction's doctrine of using proven equipment over experimental designs. Less technically ambitious than RAVEN's Kinmark SRS but more field-tested, the M421 is the weapon of choice for VALOR's designated marksman cadre. MsgtGunny, considered by many to be the finest sniper to operate in the MAGVerse's first era, carried a Gold-Tier variant of the Sentinel throughout his service career.
UP$: Top- level Valor Unit famous for allowing some of their operators to deploy with 3C when they were attacked by The Dark Flock. TDF was soundly defeated destroying their veneer as the top unit in the MAGVerse.
